Google Doodle To Celebrate Father's Day 2020 with Digital Card-maker Doodle.

Google is celebrating Father's Day 2020 or Hari Ayah (November 12, 2020) with a special doodle that lets users design a digital card for their fathers. The doodle represents crafts having pencils, paper cut-outs, flowers as well as cards and envelopes.

Google Doodle 22.09.20: Celebrating Benyamin Sueb

Today’s Doodle, illustrated by Indonesia-based guest artist Isa Indra Permana, commemorates iconic Indonesian actor, comedian, singer, songwriter, writer, director, and producer Benyamin “Bang Ben” Sueb, who championed Jakarta, Indonesia’s Betawi culture as the star of more than 50 movies and composer of over 300 original songs. On this day in 2018, Jakarta inaugurated Benyamin Sueb Park, a cultural center dedicated to upholding the Betawi heritage to which Sueb devoted so much of his life.

Benyamin Sueb was born on March 5th, 1939 in present-day Jakarta. He first entered the music scene in the 1950s as a member of the “Melody Boys,” a band that drew upon a wide variety of international influences. Sueb later relied on more traditional Betawi musical idioms to write hits including “Nonton Bioskop” (“Watching Movies”) and “Hujan Grimis” (“Drizzle”) and helped to revitalize the gabang kromong style through beloved songs like “Ondel-Ondel” (Giant Puppets).

Sueb’s acting career took off in the early ‘70s, and through the lens of his often playfully comedic films, he is credited with painting a more accurate depiction of Betawi culture. He garnered acclaim for roles in films like “Intan Berduri” (“Thorny Diamond,” 1972) and “Si Doel Anak Modern” (“Doel the Modern Child,” 1976), both of which earned him Best Actor Citra Awards at the Indonesian Film Festival.

In 1990, Benyamin created Ben’s Radio, Indonesia’s only radio station dedicated to Betawi, which continues to play Sueb’s music to this day.

Interactive Google Doodle To Celebrate #EarthDay 2020

See what all the buzz is about in today’s interactive Earth Day Google Doodle, made in collaboration with The Honeybee Conservancy based in New York! Guide your bee to pollinate flowers while learning fun facts about bees and our planet that they help to sustain.

Today’s Doodle also reminds us all of how small actions performed by individuals everywhere add up to big results. And while beekeeping may be not be for everyone, there are so many easy ways to help save bees, even while social distancing in today’s world:

Support your local beekeeper. When purchasing honey and beeswax products, choose locally-made options to invest in local beekeepers, who sustainably raise bees and bolster the community.
Donate time or funds to local environmental groups. Bees are part of a complex ecosystem, and contributions to organizations that support any conservation effort will help strengthen the environment.
Make safe havens for native bees. Most native bees have a solitary lifestyle: 30% live in holes inside trees, and 70% live underground. Give them shelter by providing exposed, undisturbed soil or nesting boxes that you can buy or make yourself.
Create a bee bath. Fill a shallow bird bath or bowl with clean water, and arrange stones inside so that they poke out of the water. Bees will land on the stones to drink on breaks from foraging and pollinating.
Plant a pollinator garden. Diversify sources of bee nutrition while beautifying spaces with pollinator-friendly plants. Make a garden in spaces ranging from window boxes to full yards, and consider using a mix of multi-season blooms to provide year-round sustenance.
