Top 10 Gadgets of 2017 by TIME Magazine

Innovation in technology is growing rapidly with the release of some of the latest gadgets by the big brands like Apple, Microsoft and Samsung. TIME magazine at the end of 2017 released a list of the Top 10 Gadgets of 2017 containing the best technology products from several brands and very interesting for the best gadgets is Nintendo Switch from Nintendo.


Here’s a look at TIME’s top 10 gadgets of 2017:

1. NINTENDO SWITCH

The Nintendo Switch[b] is the seventh major video game console developed by Nintendo. Known in development by its codename NX, it was unveiled in October 2016 and was released worldwide on March 3, 2017. Nintendo considers the Switch a "hybrid" console; it is designed primarily as a home console, with the main unit inserted onto a docking station to connect to a television. Alternatively, it can be removed from the dock and used similarly to a tablet computer through its LCD touchscreen, or placed in a standalone tabletop mode visible to several players.

iPhone X is a smartphone designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc. It was announced on September 12, 2017, alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus at the Steve Jobs Theater in the Apple Park campus. The phone was released on November 3, 2017. This iPhone marks the device's tenth anniversary, with "X" being the symbol for "ten" in Roman numerals. Within Apple's lineup, the iPhone X is positioned as a high-end, premium model with what Apple is presenting as technology of the future. It features wireless charging, an OLED display, dual-lens cameras with improved depth sensing, and a facial recognition system called Face ID. Much of its internal hardware is shared with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.


3. MICROSOFT SURFACE LAPTOP

Microsoft Surface is a series of touchscreen Windows personal computers and interactive whiteboards designed and developed by Microsoft. The devices are manufactured by Pegatron and are designed to be premium devices that set examples to Windows OEMs. It comprises four generations of hybrid tablets, 2-in-1 detachable notebooks, a convertible desktop all-in-one, an interactive whiteboard, and various accessories all with unique form factors. With the exception of the first-generation Surface and Surface 2, all Surface PCs use Intel processors and are compatible with Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system.

DJI’s palm-sized drone is a big step in the direction of making drones easier and more convenient for the average person. The Spark’s standout feature is that it doesn’t require a remote control for navigation. Just tap the button on the back of the drone twice, and it will prepare to take off from the palm of your hand. You can also pilot the Spark with your hand, prompting it to fly higher, lower, or in a certain direction with a wave of your arm. Of course, these features work best under optimal conditions, and the Spark doesn’t always operate flawlessly, but its size and simplicity are a feat in their own right.


5. SAMSUNG GALAXY S8

The Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8+ (shortened to S8 and S8+, respectively) and Samsung Galaxy S8 Active are Android smartphones produced by Samsung Electronics as part of the Samsung Galaxy S series. The S8 and S8+ contain upgraded hardware and major design changes over their predecessors, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, including larger screens with a taller aspect ratio and curved sides on both the smaller and larger models, iris and face recognition, a new suite of virtual assistant features known as Bixby (along with a new dedicated physical button for launching the assistant), and a docking station accessory that allows the phones to be used with a personal computer-styled desktop interface with keyboard and mouse input support.

6. SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM (SNES) CLASSIC

Nintendo’s iconic grey-and-purple Super Nintendo gaming machine made a huge comeback in 2017. The SNES Classic comes loaded with 21 retro titles, including Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, and a previously unreleased Star Fox game. Everything from the games themselves to the way the controllers feel in your hands are exactly as you would remember from the 1990s. Catering to players’ nostalgia has seemingly paid off: the SNES Classic was the second best-selling video game console during the month of October, according to research firm NPD, and it’s been nearly impossible to find since its September launch.


7. AMAZON ECHO (2nd GENERATION)

Amazon Echo (shortened and referred to as Echo) is a brand of smart speakers developed by Amazon.com. The devices connect to the voice-controlled intelligent personal assistant service Alexa, which responds to the name "Alexa". This "wake word" can be changed by the user to "Amazon", "Echo" or "Computer". The device is capable of voice interaction, music playback, making to-do lists, setting alarms, streaming podcasts, playing audiobooks, and providing weather, traffic and other real-time information. It can also control several smart devices using itself as a home automation hub.

8. XBOX ONE X

The Xbox One X is the most powerful games console on the market today. It represents a major performance boost over the Xbox One S and is geared towards people who want to see their games at the best quality possible on a console. 4K is the name of the game, and this machine does a sterling job of serving up games at the fabled 3840 x 2160-pixel resolution.


9. APPLE WATCH 3

The Apple Watch Series 3 is the third-generation model of the Apple Watch, introduced on September 12, 2017, and was released alongside the iPhone 8 on September 22, 2017. The main new feature of this generation is the built-in LTE cellular connectivity and offers both voice and data communication, including out-of-the-box Apple Music streaming. Antenna functionality (receiving and transmitting elements for LTE and UMTS) is part of the display and the watch features an electronic SIM (eSIM), 1% the size of a standard SIM card, and shares the same mobile number as the user's iPhone.

10. SONY ALPHA A7R III

The Sony α7R III (model ILCE-7RM3)[1] was announced by Sony on 25 October 2017. Sony A7R III aka Sony Alpha 7R III is a full frame mirror-less camera. The Sony A7R III is a successor to the A7R II that was launched in 2015. The sensor used in the Sony A7R III is a 42.2MP BSI CMOS sensor with front-end LST.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Hammer & Knife Scratch Test

Hardware The Galaxy S7's hardware design is largely identical to that of the S6, retaining its metal and glass chassis, but with refinements such as a flatter home button, and a thinner protrusion for the camera. Both models will be available in black and gold colors; a white and silver version will be available depending on the market.The S7 and S7 Edge are IP68-certified for dust and water resistance; unlike the Galaxy S5, the S7's ports are sealed and thus, do not have protective flaps. Moisture in the charging port prevents the phone from charging.
Galaxy S7 devices are equipped with a Samsung Exynos 8890 system-on-chip and 4 GB of RAM. In the United States and China, the S7 uses the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, as unlike Exynos, it supports the CDMA networks which are still extensively used by some U.S. and China carriers. The heat from the processor is transferred with a 0.4mm thick water cooling system. The S7 includes either 32 or 64 GB of internal storage (in most markets only the 32 GB model will be available). The micro SD card slot was restored, enabling expansion of storage capacity. Both the S7 and S7 Edge feature a 1440p Super AMOLED display; the S7 has a 5.1-inch panel, while the S7 Edge now uses a larger 5.5-inch panel. As with the prior model, the S7 Edge's screen is curved along the side bezels of the device. Both models also have larger batteries in comparison to the S6, with 3000 mAh and 3600 mAh capacity respectively and support for wireless charging. The S7 features a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with a "Dual Pixel" image sensor and f/1.7 aperture lens.


Software The Galaxy S7 ships with Android 6.0 "Marshmallow" and Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz software suite. A new "Always On" functionality displays a clock and notifications on-screen when the device is in standby; the display is turned off completely if the device's proximity sensor detects that it is in an enclosed space such as a pocket. Samsung claims this feature would only consume half a percentage of battery capacity per-hour. New widget panes can be displayed on the edge of the S7 Edge, in "Edge Single" and wider "Edge Single Plus" sizes. Who's Who In Music Streaming: Tidal, Spotify, Pandora & More

Since Apple shook up the music world with iTunes a little more than a decade ago, online music has exploded and become the central way many people enjoy and discover music. Internet services such as Pandora and Spotify have millions of users. Now, several high-profile musicians are behind what's being billed as the first artist-owned music-streaming service.

Tidal isn't new, but it's getting a reboot from rapper Jay-Z, who bought the Scandinavian company behind it, Aspiro. Madonna, Rihanna and Beyonce are among the co-owners. That's notable because many artists complain about how little payment they get from other music services, such as Spotify. As owners, artists could insist on better deals.

There are now three main ways to get music, and many services offer a blend:

— Pay per song. Apple's iTunes has made it easy to buy singles or albums. Many artists release new albums early through iTunes. Google and Amazon now compete, but the premise remains the same: Buy songs or albums to own forever.

— Unlimited listening. For a monthly subscription of about $10, you can listen to as many songs as you want on a variety of personal computers, phones, tablets and other devices. Many also let you download songs for offline playback. Once you stop paying, though, you lose all your songs, even ones you've already downloaded. Some offer free versions with ads and other restrictions, such as song selection only on PCs.

— Internet radio. You can't choose specific songs or artists, as you can with the unlimited-listening services. But you can fine-tune your Internet stations by specifying a song, artist, genre or playlist. The station will then stream songs similar to your choices. You can personalize stations further by giving thumbs up or thumbs down to songs you hear.

Music services typically have deals with all major recording companies, so they differ mainly in features rather than song selection. That said, Taylor Swift took her music off Spotify last fall in a dispute over fees. All but her most recent album are on Tidal, Rdio and Beats.

One of the most popular music services, with 60 million active users worldwide, and a quarter of them paying subscribers. Just this week, Spotify launched an app on Sony's PlayStation game console. The two companies worked closely to make listening seamless, so music can be heard in the background while playing games, without losing the game's sound effects, for instance. Spotify offers unlimited listening and Internet radio. It's free with ads; on mobile devices, users are limited to Internet radio and can't choose songs. Paying $10 a month gets you an ad-free premium service that offers song selection and offline playback on mobile devices.

PANDORA

Offers Internet radio only. More than 81 million active listeners. Free with ads, or pay $5 a month for an ad-free premium service and higher-quality audio over Web browsers.

TIDAL

Unlimited listening. Among the few services offering high-fidelity songs, which many audiophiles prefer over MP3s and other formats that reduce quality in the compression process. Offers music video and curated playlists from experts. $10 a month for standard sound quality and $20 for high fidelity. There's no free offering.

APPLE

Pay per song to download and own forever through iTunes. Free Internet radio through iTunes Radio on Apple devices. Also owns Beats Music, which offers unlimited listening for $10 a month, with no free version. Beats touts its playlists and other recommendations curated by experts, not computers.

GOOGLE

Pay per song through Google Play. Google Play Music service offers unlimited listening for $10 a month, with no free option. Google also offers YouTube Music Key for selected music videos, free of ads, for $10. Paying for one gets you the other, too.

AMAZON

Pay-per-song offering. Amazon's $99-a-year Prime membership comes with unlimited listening, though the song selection isn't as broad as what rivals offer.

SAMSUNG'S MILK MUSIC

Offers free Internet radio like Pandora and others, but tries to make it easier to find music to match your mood. Instead of typing in songs or artists to find matching stations, you spin an on-screen wheel to go through various genres until you land on something you like. Initially exclusive to Samsung TVs and mobile devices, there's now a Web player for personal computers.

Dari bocoran gambar tersebut terlihat bahwa ponsel Galaxy Core 2 memiliki 1 tombol fisik "Home" di antara tombol "recent apps" dan tombol "back". Samsung Launches Galaxy ACE Style With Android KitKat

Samsung hari ini secara resmi merilis ponsel Galaxy ACE Style yang sudah dilengkapi dengan Android versi terbaru KitKat V.4.4 plus prosesor dual-core 1.2 GHz dan layar 4 inchi VWGA TFT touchscreen serta interface TouchWiz Essence. Samsung Galaxy S5 Extreme Water Test (Pool & Washing Machine)

Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Specs Leaked

Bulan Februari lalu Samsung merilis smartphone terbaru Galaxy S5 di ajang Mobile World Congres 2014 dan kabar terbaru apabila Samsung juga bakal merilis Galaxy S5 Mini yang akan mengarah ke pangsa pasar mid-range dengan spesifikasi dan fitur yang berbeda dibanding Galaxy S5.

Bocoran spesifikasi terbaru dirilis oleh SamMobile, perangkat Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini  dengan nomor model SM-G800 menggunakan layar 4.5 inchi Super AMOLED dengan resolusi 720p, apabila dibandingkan dengan Galaxy S4 mini layar Galaxy S5 ini lebih besar.

Galaxy S5 Mini menggunakan operating system Android KitKat dan dibekali dengan prosesor Snapdragon, kemungkinan menggunakan Snapdragon 400 dan 1.5 GB RAM. Kamera galaxy S5 Mini ada 2 buah depan dan belakang, kamera utama 8 MP dan kamera depan 2 MP cukup untuk selfie. Spesifikasi lain untuk Galaxy S5 antara lain 16 GB storage, IR blaster, 2,100 mAH battery. Kemungkinan Galaxy S5 ini akan memiliki fitur water-resistant melalui sertifikasi IP67 seperti di Galaxy S5.

Belum diketahui secara pasti adanya fitur fingeprint sensor karena Galaxy S5 ini versi mini yang lebih murah meskipun harganya sampai saat ini belum dapat diperkirakan. Kita tunggu aja nanti tanggal rilis resminya.

Samsung tanggal 27 Maret 2014 bakal merilis situs baru Samsung Design yang akan digunakan untuk menampung ide dari pengguna Samsung buat produk-produk Samsung di masa depan.
