Transitioning The Vine App To Vine Camera

setelah bulan oktober lalu twitter sebagai pemilik aplikasi vine bakal mematikan vine selamanya ternyata ada perubahan. sesuai dengan postingan blog aplikasi vine yang ada di medium pertengahan desember ini, aplikasi vine sebagai video sharing akan dimatikan mulai 17 januari 2017 tetapi vine akan diaktifkan kembali sebagai aplikasi vine camera dimana pengguna masih bisa membuat video pendek 6 detik yang dapat langsung diposting di twitter atau disimpan di galeri smartphone atau di upload di layanan lain.

dalam rangka shut down ini, pengguna vine dapat mendownload video-video yang pernah diunggah di aplikasi vine secara langsung di aplikasi ios, android atau website. sedangkan video yang pernah ada di vine akan tetap ditonton di website vine.co.

fitur lain yang ditambahkan menyambut peralihan dari aplikasi vine ke vine camera adalah akan adanya notifikasi "follow on twitter" yang akan tampil di halaman profile pengguna sehingga memudahkan para follower aplikasi vine yang mengikuti video creator di layanan twitternya.

Twitter Is Shutting Down The Video App "Vine"

Twitter is killing off its social media video-sharing app and platform Vine as it trims its headcount and costs. The social network said the Vine mobile app would be discontinued “in the coming months”.

Acquired by Twitter in 2012, Vine started off strong, becoming the No. 1 app on the iTunes App Store only six months after joining the company. At one point, Vine had more than 200 million active users, yet it struggled to maintain traction and saw a decline in popularity in recent months. Competition from Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube made it difficult to stand out from the pack. According to data from App Annie, Vine has since dropped to No. 284 in the top charts for free applications on iOS, down from the low 100s at the beginning of the year. It’s still fairly well-ranked (No. 24) in the Photo & Video category, but hasn’t placed on the Entertainment apps top charts since 2015. (TechCrunch)

We’ll be keeping the website online because we think it’s important to still be able to watch all the incredible Vines that have been made. You will be notified before we make any changes to the app or website.

Vine on Web Has New Look & Add Discover Video Feature

Mengikuti jejak Instagram milik Facebook, layanan short video sharing milik Twitter yakni Vine akhirnya merilis versi web dengan tampilan baru dengan menambahkan beberapa layanan termasuk fitur pencarian video berdasarkan kata kunci atau hashtag tertentu.

Sebelumnya Vine sudah merilis Vine on Web di bulan Januari 2014 ini dan merilis fitur Vine Message di awal April ini tetapi layanan video 6 detik ini ingin lebih memperluas cara akses dengan lebih mudah selain menggunakan mobile version (iOS, Windows Phone dan Android) tetapi menggunakan komputer.

Fitur-fitur yang ada saat ini di versi Vine on Web antara lain:
- Home Feed (berisi video-video yang berasal dari pengguna lain yang kita follow)
- TV Mode (melihat secara berurutan antar video tanpa looping)

Vine App Add Private Video Message Feature on Android and iOS

Layanan short-video sharing milik Twitter "Vine" merilis fitur baru yang memungkinkan pengguna aplikasi Vine untuk mengirimkan pesan pribadi dalam bentuk video pendek melalui aplikasi iOS (iPhone, iPad dan iPod Touch) serta platform Android.

Di layanan Vine, video message (VM)  dapat dikirimkan ke beberapa orang sekaligus dan tidak terbatas kepada orang-orang yang ada di contact Vine saja tapi bisa langsung ke orang lain melalui email atau SMS.

Untuk menggunakan layanan VM ini sangat mudah, pertama klik menu "Message" di halaman utama lalu klik tombol "record video" lalu ambil gambar langsung dari gadget, setelah selesai cari teman yang akan dikirimin video dan tinggal dikirim. (lihat capture di bawah)

Fitur lain yang baru di versi ini adalah adanya pilihan warna yang dapat digunakan untuk halaman profil kita, ada 9 warna pastel yang tersedia. Untuk menggunakan fitur ini buka halaman profil kita lalu pilih menu "Setting" dan pilih warna yang disukai.

Kemaren Twitter melalui Vine Labs, Inc. merilis layanan baru video sharing berdurasi singkat hanya 6 detik yang instant yang berhadapan langsung dengan Facebook. Termasuk gonjang-ganjing hari ini memuncak perseteruan keduanya dengan adanya block Vine yang tampil di Facebook, beberapa waktu lalu justru Instagram (layanan milik Facebook) di block di Twitter dan hanya berupa link singkat.
