Hari ini BlackBerry merilis versi baru BBM untuk pengguna iOS (iPhone, iPad dan iPod Touch), Android dan Blackberry dengan perubahan cukup signifikan yakni kehadiran "stickers" di BBM shop dan improvement fitur transfer file, foto dan video serta kemudahan picture sharing pada BBM groups.
Fitur stiker sudah dikabarkan beberapa waktu lalu dengan ujicoba di versi beta setalah rilis versi sebelumnya di bulan Februari 2014 lalu yang menambahkan fitur voice calls, channels dan location sharing. Fitur "stickers" baru hadir hari ini di semua versi. Fitur ini menjadi ladang baru BlackBerry mengeruk keuntungan dari pengguna BBM mengikuti beberapa instant messenger lain yang sukses dengan stiker-nya seperti LINE dan WeChat bahkan social network lain seperti Path dan Facebook Chat. Stiker-stiker yang ada di BBM tidaklah gratis tapi dihargai sekitar $1.99 meskipun ada juga yang gratis dan dapat ditemukan di BBM Shop. Setiap sticker pack terdiri dari 20 sampai 25 stiker dan menurut keterangan pihak BlackBerry akan ada stiker dari CosCat, Gilbert's Tales, Bubble Bot, Shaun the Sheep dan WWE
Fitur lain yang diperbaiki antara lain kemudahan dalam berbagi foto, video dan file yang diperbesar ukuran menjadi 16 MB setiap kirim file sehingga foto atau video yang kita kirimkan menjadi lebih baik kualitasnya atau durasi video yang lebih panjang.
Bagi pengguna setia BBM silahkan update atau download aplikasi tersebut langsung dari Apple's App World, Google Play Store atau BlackBerry World.
