facebook beberapa waktu yang lalu menambahkan satu fitur baru yang memungkinkan pengguna untuk memposting gambar atau foto 3 dimensi/ 3d version dan dapat dilihat langsung di facebook feed melalui aplikasi di smartphone. komputer atau bahkan menggunakan vr goggles (kacamata virtual reality).

yang menarik dari gambar 3 dimensi tersebut selain bergerak-gerak juga terlihat tidak datar (depth) apalagi saat smartphone digerak gerakkan atau saat dilakukan scroll ke arah bawah.

untuk melakukan upload foto 3 dimensi ada berbagai cara yang dapat dilakukan, menggunakan smartphone iphone dan android tipe tertentu juga bisa dilakukan langgung menggunakan facebook yang ada di komputer.

saat ini untuk perangkat iphone yang dapat digunakan untuk upload foto 3 dimensi adalah yang memiliki fitur "portrait mode" dengan lensa lebih dari satu di bagian belakang/ dual-real camera, beberapa perangkat iphone tersebut antara lain iphone 7+, iphone 8+, iphone x, iphone xs, iphone xs max, iphone 11, iphone 11 pro dan iphone 11 pro max.

cara upload atau posting foto 3 dimensi dari smartphone jenis iphone dan android cukup mudah:

- tap kolom yang biasa digunakan posting status atau foto yang ada tulisan "what's on your mind?" di bagian atas news feed, selain di halaman sendiri juga bisa di group atau di page.

- tap menu "photo/ video", pilih foto dengan "portrait mode" (iphone dan android) atau "lens blur" (android) atau "live focus mode" (android).

- akan terlihat tulisan "3d' di kanan bawah foto yang menandakan foto dapat diposting sebagai foto 3 dimensi.

- tap juga tulisan "make 3d" di kiri atas foto untuk mengubah foto ke versi 3 dimensi.

- lalu tap "share" atau "post" untuk memposting foto 3 dimensi tersebut dan hasilnya seperti di bawah ini.

ada beberapa catatan penting saat upload foto 3 dimensi:

- foto 3 dimensi tidak dapat diedit, jika edit foto menggunakan facebook, komputer atau aplikasi lain maka foto tersebut tidak dapat diubah ke versi 3 dimensi/ 3d photo.

- pada saat upload foto 3 dimensi, kita tidak dapat melakukan multiple upload tetapi hanya satu foto 3d yang dapay diposting.

- pada saat posting foto 3 dimensi ini kita tidak dapat langsung menambahkan ke album tetapi harus mengedit postingan terlebih dahulu untuk menambahkan ke album foto.

- postingan foto 3 dimensi di page tidak dapat dilakukan untuk "boosted" atau untuk kepentingan "ads".

selain cara posting foto 3 dimensi di facebook melalui aplikasi dan perangkat khusus di iphone dan android, kita juga dapat melakukan posting foto 3 dimensi melalui komputer,.

berikut cara membuat dan memposting foto 3 dimensi menggunakan komputer:

- terlebuh dahulu membuat file foto dalam 2 versi di komputer, foto versi pertama disimpan dalam format .png atau .jpg sedangkan foto versi kedua dibuat dengan versi "depth map" dan disimpan dengan tambahan "_depth", sebagai contoh "myimage_depth.png". foto versi kedua ini dapat dibuat menggunakan aplikasi foto editing dengan syarat memiliki aspect ratio yang sama dengan foto versi pertama.

- setelah dibuat dalam 2 versi foto, selanjutkan di halaman facebook klik "photo/ video" di bagian atas news feed.

- pilih kedua versi foto yang sudah dibuat, lakukan drag and drop ke bagian postingan tersebut.

- foto 3 dimensi akan digabungkan dan dibuat oleh facebook lalu klik "post" untuk mempostingnya.

Facebook is marking its 12th anniversary by releasing a new video feature that stitches together photos of users with their nearest and dearest. The personalized video was released in honor of Facebook’s birthday, which the company has dubbed “Friends Day.”

The video will appear at the top of your newsfeed and pieces together snapshots of you and your friends with comments and captions. Think of it as a video photo album.

Instagram Launch New Photo Collage App "Layout"

layanan photo sharing instagram milik facebook merilis aplikasi baru yang diberi nama "layout" yang dapat digunakan para pengguna ios (iphone dan ipad) tanpa harus mendaftar ataupun login menggunakan akun instagram ataupun facebook. seperti namanya "layout"seperti aplikasi kolase foto yang otomatis akan membuat kumpulan foto dalam beberapa frame (maksimal 9 frame) dari foto-foto yang ada di galeri iphone/ ipad.

ada 3 pilihan foto yang bisa diambil dari galeri dengan memilih "all" untuk semua foto, "face" hanya akan menampilkan foto dengan wajah dan "recents" yang akan menampilkan 30 foto terakhir. kolase foto yang sudah dipilihpun juga bisa diatur lagi dengan memilih menu "replace" atau mengganti gambar serta "mirror" dan "flip" untuk memutar seperti cermin maupun memutar foto.

selain kemampuan mengambil foto dari galeri untuk dijadikam kolase foto, aplikasi "layout" juga memiliki fitur "photo booth" yang dapat digunakan untuk berfoto selfie dalam beberapa gaya dan tersedia "countdown" sebelum pengambilan gambar. beberapa foto yang diambil secara langsung tersebut bisa dipilih dan langsung berupa kolase yang juga dapat dipilih dan diedit sebelum disimpan di galeri atau dibagikan melalui instagram maupun facebook dan beberapa layanan lainnya.

tahun 2014 segera berakhir... facebook sebagai salah satu layanan social network kembali lagi merilis fitur "your year in review", tetapi tahun 2014 ini berbeda dengan "year in review" tahun sebelumnya yang dalam bentuk video kenangan selama setahun.

facebook "your year in review" tahun ini hanya dalam bentuk kumpulan foto yang dapat di-customized ole pengguna dalam hal desain dan foto yang akan tampil meskipun secara default facebook sudah mengumpulkan berdasarkan bulan. untuk membuat "your year in review" pengguna facebook dapat mengakses https://www.facebook.com/yearinreview dengan terlebih dahulu login.

setelah halaman tersebut terbuka tinggal klik "customize" untuk mengatur foto dan desain atau langsung klik "share" apabila sudah sesuai keinginan. apabila memilih "customize" akan tampil halaman yang bisa diubah sesuai keinginan seperti foto utama, pilih tema (choose a theme), menentukan judul, deskripsi dan memilih maksimal 4 foto setiap section. terakhir bisa mengubah foto profil di bagian "Sign with a selfie". dan tinggal klik "done" dan "share" serta bisa juga di-embed di blog atau web kita...

New Instagram For iOS Remove Auto-Share Feature To Facebook

Layanan photo and video sharing milik Facebook yakni Instagram merilis versi baru aplikasi Instagram for iOS v.5.0.11 dan yang menarik dari versi terbaru ini adalah dihilangkannya fitur auto sharing aktivitas di Instagram ke akun Facebook. Sebelumnya Instagram memiliki fitur auto sharing yang memungkinkan pengguna Instagram yang melakukan Likes atau aktifitas lain akan terlihat di timeline Facebook.

Dengan dihilangkan fitur auto sharing tersebut pengguna Instagram apabila akan membagi foto dan video yang diupload ke Facebook harus melalui tombol sharing yang umum seperti kita sharing ke social media lain seperti Twitter, Tumblr dan Flickr.

Langkah Facebook untuk menghilangkan auto sharing Instagram seperti juga langkah menghapus "messaging" di aplikasi iOS dan Android dan digantikan oleh aplikasi stand-alone milik Facebook juga yakni "Messenger".

If you turn on Nearby Friends, you can also choose to share a precise location with the particular friends you choose for a set period of time, such as the next hour. Facebook to Kill Messaging Service From iOS And Android

Facebook mulai hari ini menghapus fitur kirim pesan (direct message) di aplikasi Facebook for iOS dan Facebook for Android dan sebagai gantinya pengguna Facebook apabila membuka menu pesan akan langsung terhubung dengan Facebook Messenger dan tidak ada lagi pilihan untuk menerima atau mengirim pesan lewat aplikasi Facebook. Apabila pengguna iOS atau Android belum memasang aplikasi Messenger otomatis saat membuka Inbox akan dipaksa install Messenger di perangkatnya. Saat ini untuk versi web masih tersedia fitur Inbox tersebut.

Facebook saat ini terus memperbaiki Facebook Messenger untuk perangkat Android maupun iOS meskipun Facebook juga memiliki layanan instant messenger WhatsApp yang dibelinya seharga $19 Billion. Bahkan beberapa waktu lalu Facebook menambahkan fitur Voice Call di aplikasi Messenger for Android maupun iOS yang memungkinkan antar pengguna Facebook saling berbicara dengan apliasi Messenger tersebut di jaringan Wi-Fi maupun 3G.

Facebook Launch A New Look for Ads in the Right-Hand Column

In the coming months, Facebook will be rolling out a new design for ads in the right-hand column. This updated look will make right-hand column ads more visually consistent with the ads that appear in News Feed. They will use the same proportions as desktop News Feed ads, they will be larger in size, and there will be fewer of them. For advertisers, this offers a simpler way to create ads and an enhanced creative canvas on the right-hand column of Facebook.

Here’s how the new ads will look:

A better experience for people 
The new look of the ads, along with their new distribution, is intended to offer a better ad experience on Facebook. In early tests we’ve seen increased engagement — up to 3X more — from people seeing the new design.

A simpler ad product 
Because the updated ads mirror the overall shape of desktop News Feed ads, marketers will no longer have to choose separate images for News Feed and right-hand column placements. They can now use the same image for both.

Availability 
Some advertisers will begin seeing this new option later this month, with all advertisers being rolled over later this year. During this transition phase, we will support the old and new formats.

Facebook Messenger For iOS Brings Free VoIP Calling

Beberapa layanan instant messenger saat ini mulai dilengkapi dengan fitur voice call menggunakan VoIP selain chatting konvensional. Facebook Aqcuire Oculus Virtual Reality Company $2 Billion

Facebook today announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Oculus VR, Inc., the leader in immersive virtual reality technology, for a total of approximately $2 billion. This includes $400 million in cash and 23.1 million shares of Facebook common stock (valued at $1.6 billion based on the average closing price of the 20 trading days preceding March 21, 2014 of $69.35 per share).  The agreement also provides for an additional $300 million earn-out in cash and stock based on the achievement of certain milestones.

Oculus is the leader in immersive virtual reality technology and has already built strong interest among developers, having received more than 75,000 orders for development kits for the company's virtual reality headset, the Oculus Rift. While the applications for virtual reality technology beyond gaming are in their nascent stages, several industries are already experimenting with the technology, and Facebook plans to extend Oculus' existing advantage in gaming to new verticals, including communications, media and entertainment, education and other areas.  Given these broad potential applications, virtual reality technology is a strong candidate to emerge as the next social and communications platform.

"Mobile is the platform of today, and now we're also getting ready for the platforms of tomorrow," said Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. "Oculus has the chance to create the most social platform ever, and change the way we work, play and communicate."

Pertemuan Wagub DKI Ahok & Dean Neary: Facebook Akan Buka Kantor Di Pacific Place

Berita tentang rencana pembukaan kantor Facebook di Indonesia makin jelas dengan adanya pertemuan Dan Neary sebagai Vice President of Asia Pacific dengan Wakil Gubernur DKI Jakarta Basuki T. Purnama (Ahok) tanggal 20 Maret lalu. Pemprov DKI memposting video rekaman pertemuan di akun YouTube (silahkan simak video selengkapnya di bawah).

Facebook berencana menempati kantor di Mal Pacific Place yang berlokasi di Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) Jakarta dan menurut mereka pmbukaan kantor resmi di Indonesia dalam rangka mengembangkan usaha kecil dan menengah (UKM).  Belum jelas nanti wujudnya bagaimana, yang pasti Facebook akan memanfaatkan pengguna Facebook Indonesia yang berjumlah 65 juta ini dari sisi bisnis seperti iklan atau e-commerce lewat Facebook.

Tentang momen Pemilu yang saat ini sedang berlangsung di Indonesia bagi Facebook seperti yang disampaikan Dan Neary akan membantu interaksi calon legislastif atau calon presiden berinteraksi dengan pemilihnya dan memanfaatkan Facebook buat kampanye semaksimal mungkin.

Facebook for BlackBerry 10 Updated Adds Newsfeed Sorting Features & Emoji Support

Facebook merilis versi baru Facebook for BlackBerry 10 V.10.4.0.12 dengan tambahan fitur pada bagian newsfeed yang dapat ditampilkan berdasarkan "Most Recent" atau "Top Stories" sama dengan yang ada di versi desktop.

Fitur lain bagi penggemar "Conversation" saling komentar saat ini bisa menambahkan emoticon animasi (emoji)  sehingga lebih menarik serta tambahan fitur check-in lokasi dengan adanya peta lokasi. Silahkan bagi yang menggunakan aplikasi Facebook for BlackBerry 10 bisa langsung update dari BlackBerry World.

Facebook Opens An Office In Indonesia, Its Fourth Largest Country With 65m Users

Facebook has opened an office in Indonesia, the Southeast Asian country that is its fourth-largest market with 65 million registered users.

Daily Social reports that the US firm already has key personnel on board — having hired a country manager, ‘growth manager,’ and engineers — but a physical presence will help ramp up its hiring and increase its engagement with the local community.

“It’s very exciting because when we look at Indonesia, it’s one of our priority markets for expansion, so it’s exciting to think about how we’re going to grow that business over time,” Facebook Vice President of Asia Pacific Dan Neary said in a statement.

As well as increasing its local ad revenue, Neary said the company will focus on helping e-commerce among SMEs — Facebook-based shops are hugely popular across Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia — promoting political dialogue, and aiding the country’s tourism push.

Facebook opened an office in Singapore — its first in Southeast Asia — in 2010, and also has a physical presence in Malaysia. In total, it has 13 offices across the Asia Pacific region.

Facebook Introduce the Facebook Messenger for Android Beta Testing Program

Facebook hari ini mengumumkan lewat Enginering Blog program beta testing Facebook Messenger for Android yang memungkinkan pengguna Android yang berminat membantu Facebook mencoba terlebih dahulu versi beta sebelum rilis resmi ke publik.  Sebelumnya di bulan Juni tahun lalu Facebook sudah meluncurkan program yang sama an kali ini Facebook menjanjikan akan update perbaikan setiap minggu dari masukan peserta beta testing ini.

- Join Facebook Messenger for Android Beta Tester di Google Groups https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/messenger-for-android-beta-testers

- Ikuti petunjuk yang ada di Google Groups, kunjungi link http://bit.ly/1ce7FE5 dan klik "Become a Tester"

- Uninstall aplikasi Facebook Messenger di Android terlebih dahulu.

- Buka Play Store dan re-install kembali aplikasi Facebook Messenger dengan memilih menu "update" atau "install".

- Aplikasi Facebook Messenger yang terinstal sudah dalam versi Beta Tester dan nyalakan notifikasi karena setiap minggu bakal ada beberapa update terbaru.
